T minus 3 days...

Moving on Friday. AAUUGGHHH! I'm excited and nervous and ultimately, the feeling at the end of the day is that I can't wait for it to be over. I just want to be there, unpacking our stuff and making the apartment feel like home. The lady from the bank did call back and I have an interview with Citizen's Bank on Tuesday. I'm trying not to be overconfident, but I feel fairly confident that with my office experience I'm going to get it.

Right now I'm just trying to finish my whirlwind of social activity, trying to see everyone here one last time, trying to finish packing and cleaning and all that other fun stuff.

Tomorrow is my last day of work at the store and I can't wait to move on. My boss gave me the best going away present ever--he fired the one kid I hated. YaY! The kid has had it coming and this weekend was the last straw. Yeah, I wish he had done it sooner, but I'm glad I was still here when he did it (and I thanked him for it).

Well, I have a major list on my hands today, so I'm going to get to it. Have a great day all! :)

Great Day!!

1. Took car for oil change and despite recent car related concerns NOTHING else NEEDED to be FIXED!!! This is the first time I've taken it for an oil change and not had to get something else done--and I thought for sure I would because I've had a couple problems lately--but they looked her over and said everything was okay. Yay! :)

2. Had lunch with my sister, her best friend, my mom, my aunt and my nieces at Olive Garden. Always a good thing. :)

3. Got $50 gift card from said aunt for move. Yay free money! We WILL be able to afford gas/groceries when we get there. :)

4. While at said lunch, got a phone call for an interview for a job in New Hampshire (two towns from where we're living). She needed to double check the manager's schedule (since I won't be up there until after August 4th) and said she'd get back to me. It's a bank job and it sounds promising. :)

5. Just ordered a bunch of (desperately needed) new professional adult clothes from Old Navy.com and got about $200 worth of clothes for $150 because of some different promotions they have going. I hate to spend the money--but I need to have professional adult attire for interviews and work and at present, I don't have it. But I should have it very soon (it ships from Columbus, OH so it only takes a couple of days to get to me). :)

6. Tomorrow is pay day and I only need to make my car payment this week--though I'll probably be able to pay my credit card bill too. And it's good to get things out of the way. :)

What Flavour Are You? Cor blimey, I taste like Tea.Cor blimey, I taste like Tea.

I am a subtle flavour, quiet and polite, gentle, almost ambient. My presence in crowds will often go unnoticed. Best not to spill me on your clothes though, I can leave a nasty stain. What Flavour Are You?

Jillian left the Biggest Loser?! Damn I'm bummed...I love her. I hope the new girl will be able to kick Bob's ass--she doesn't look as hardcore as Jillian.

Check her out here.

Here's what I did today:
-finished cleaning up around the apartment
-went to the PO for work
-went through ALL of my clothes
-took 3 bags of clothes to the Salvation Army
-packed 4 boxes
-mended pants and a top
-worked from 2-430
-started packing bathroom stuff
-dropped off 3 grocery bags of magazines to be recycled
-wrote out a recipe for a friend
-made dinner so it's ready when Matt gets home (soon I hope)

I'm tired. This packing crap is getting old. I'm trying to do 3 boxes a day because I have enough stuff that I don't really use at my house right now that can be packed up (and an equal amount of crap that I'm just getting rid of because I don't need it!).

Damn it! My corn muffins are very dense. I think I over mix the batter. *sigh* Oh well, they're edible.

Okay, I think I'm going to go now. More soon.

I love Jon Stewart. He makes my day.

And I love Stone Phillips. I finally saw the end of Round 2 of the Gravitas-off on the Colbert Report--and Stone Phillips kicks ass.

And I heard about one of the applications I put in at Dartmouth. They've recieved it and have accepted it for further review.

I would love it if I got to work there.

Keep your fingers crossed for me. :)

That is all.

I should not be allowed to wath Dr. Phil when homophobics are on.

I can't deal with many of their ignorant claims.

And as for the straight sisters complaint that her lesbian sister calls her a breeder, hey lady, I do too. You did choose to have children--to "breed" as it were. I'm straight, but choosing not to procreate. That makes you a breeder and me not a breeder.

Not to mention that The Breeders was a band that the fabulous Kim Deal was in. And I love her.

But not like that.

Garh.

So you want to be...

I really can't afford to spend $60 bucks to see Elvis Costello and the Imposters at Blossom...but he's coming! And it's so hard to say no! I don't know if I can! I certainly don't want to...

Why Elvis...why?

*sighs*

I rock!

My vacation was wonderful and everything I needed. I didn't want to come back.

I spent more time in the Newark, N.J. airport than I ever really wanted to.

Realized on my first plane of the trip that I took my first plane trip ever with the grandmother that recently passed. Fitting that I took my first solo trip the day before she was buried.

All vacations from now until I die must involve at least one day at the beach.

I've had a very long couple of days after a very long year at work and all. Everything kind of snapped Wednesday and now I'm just waiting to take my vacation because that is the one thing holding me together--the chance to escape for a few days. I know it will all be here when I get back, but I'll have some perspective, some sleep, some sanity that will make it all easier to bear.

Groovy...

Last night was perfect. Really, it was. We went to this fundraiser thing for Matt's day job. It was a cooking contest/silent auction. We got in for free and there was an open bar (Heineken & wine for all!). I got to meet his co-workers (which was cool as they have all seen pictures and were starting to wonder if I actually existed). I was nicely buzzed when we left (3 glasses of Chardonnay) and the weather was beautiful. So we went for a nice long walk through Oberlin before coming home and passing out. It was the best night ever. Everything was just groovy. That needs to happen more often.

-bought crappuccino at Convenient
-went to Plato's Closet
-went to Half Price Books

Yet another thing to do...

...now I have to find shoes for Katie's wedding. I knew what I wanted, but when I went to order them this morning they say they can't ship them until June 1. Her wedding is July 8. I need to get them soon so I can get my dress altered and hemmed and you kind of need the shoes for that. So now, in addition to the myriad of other errands I need to run, I have to go looking for shoes (which is only fun when you're doing it 'cause you want to). Gar Steve.

More soon.

Have a good day. :)
